heals many wounds and the sharpness of defeat and the bitterness of powerlessness...I never thought that the fullness of each moment of experienced sensuality and joy free from the constraints of survival and the fear of retribution could actually be the crystal magic through which loss is defeated temporarily.

Now, that's what I call knowing what's what. No fakey groveling gratitude in place of fear, but a deep appreciation for the goodness of living. Here's that sense of freedom from a life of stifling powerlessness, free from that frozen sense of being unable to turn to the left or the right for fear of a shock, a pain, hunger, loneliness, deperation, homelessness, psychological angst, or some sharp biting retort to keep one in one's place.
